I think that shit is completely random, though maybe that's what they're trying to convey. I got a 3 on some good essays where I knew my shit and I've gotten 7s on shitty ones where I just made up the law.
Just start doing them from memory and bullshit if you have to. I've been doing them from memory for the past 3 weeks so far and it's been a much better learning experience than scanning my outlines to figure out the answers.
Also go get yourself some Adderall, shit is magic and doctors hand it out like candy so all you gotta do is ask.

i think a 125 raw on the practice test in the mpq books translated to a 170 scaled mbe for me on the real thing. i did not take barbri (bought the books off craigslist) and had not even STARTED studying at this point.
as long as you spend a few weeks fucking around in the books, your mbe will be around your lsat.
