Basically every BigLaw firm gives you a second chance, but you will have to deal with a lot of shame.

How bad has your preparation been? It would be weird for someone to be both smart enough to get a V10 offer, but dumb enough to fail the bar.

i have been studying pretty hard. but my practice MBEs are horrible and i miss issues in the essay. also, i did not have any closed-book exams in LS and i suck at memorizing shit.

i am also a dumbfuck for taking CA to waive into DC.

how horrible? mine are hovering around 65-68% and I feel fine. Haven't looked at any essays yet.

yeah that's honeslty about where we need to be, and we still have 2 weeks to do like 50 questions a day and start diving into essays.

you're good bro. you're good.

That's passing, but barely in some jurisdictions, and if you do better your essay scores don't need to be as good. But if you're at a V10 and getting that, surely 2 weeks is more than enough time to boost your scores by 10% and learn enough law to write sufficient essays for someone with a good MBE score.

That's what I tell myself anyway.

i'm not OP but i'm also headed to a V10.

i'm not at all worried. i've only taken about 15% of the MBE questions so as I do more my scores should go way up.

just wrapping up lectures today than i'm gonna outline and review like 4-5 essays a day and do 50 MBE questions a day.

i am 100% certain i'll pass. (ny)

I think studying the MBE questions more seriously has helped me a lot. At first whenever I got a wrong answer (on StudySmart) I just thought "fuck that shit" and moved on, but now I keep a Word Document open and every time I miss something I write down the rule I miss (e.g. "Leases: Restraints on alienation are strictly construed, so a prohibition on assignment does not bar a sublease"). Maybe it's just luck but I seem to be doing better after a couple days of doing that for 50+ questions

no that's what i do too and i think it's effective. sometimes i just type out all the rules, even the ones i didn't miss.

often i find that i got the right answer for the wrong reason, so it is really helpful to review correct answers too (that'll help with just general knowledge accumulation and solidifying concepts as well)

yeah I usually write out the rule if I was at all confused, since I still have to guess a fair amount

how do you bros know when to step away from MBE and start hitting the essays? im basically in the same boat. I've done 500 MBE questions so far (haven't hit crim much yet) but haven't done any mixed mode or simulated exams. I'm pretty worried about essays but want to get MBE out of the way first. Am I fucked for only having done 500 questions so far?

In CA, the MBE topics will be covered on half of your essay questions, so you're not wasting time by studying MBE topics extensively. Only 1/6 of the CA bar score comes from state materials and it's all covered on essays which you can BS to some extent because of CA's "holistic" grading system.
