Hey Brothers, the Judge just told me I need to do a better job finding small errors. He likes the substance of my work, but told me my attention to the little details is SPS. Anyway to do this better? I already print out the opinions and go over them a few times before turning them in.

are you talking about typos that weren't caught by spell check or just mixed up words (i.e. there v. their and shit like that)? if it's the latter, just read it out loud and if it doesn't make sense, you done fucked up. if it's the former, read more books.

its shit like forgetting commas and also problems associated with lots of editing. like the subject of a sentence got changed from singular to plural, but I forgot to also change the verb. or sometimes i do weird things, like changing the last name of a party to a different but similar name starting with the same letter.

so shit that spell check don't fix.

Well, we do have some magistrates. Considering my judge is authorized by Article III and they are not, they technically are beneath me in the totem pole. I'll let him know about this new assignment post haste.

had to also improve this skill. try going sentence by sentence at first and you will gradually improve. if its just a matter of typos or other minor errors, this technique really works. just remember to go slow - one slow thorough edit will be more effective than several quick reads

I used to be awful at this. I only got better when I went to BigLaw and the partners would literally blow up at me every time it happened.
