So, I've been getting about 3/4 of my question right on the barbri mpe - have been at this clip for the past week (did a shit ton of them). So, given that barbri is noticiable harder than the real thing, am I good to just move on to the essays?

Also, it is relevant that I am in NY so there is an insane amount of law thats needed for the essays.

I've done essays, they just have not been my focus. The goal all along has been to nail the mbe subjects, as they still make up the bulk of the NY.

Also worth noting:

graduated from a legit, ABA accredited school

law school in NY

Did barbri

am white

given those stats I am something like 95% likely to pass.

ok bro, why don't you just not study the essays and see how far your whiteness gets you

what's the pt of studying mbe more? get up to 80%? that won't make a big difference in your scaled and it's unlikely to happen anyways. diminishing returns.

86% pass rates for first time ny takers from aba schools in 2011. The leaves 14% that flunk. there is a diproportianate number of esl students in ny law schools - they drag down the number. Then you have aa students who attend t4 schools that they are not even qualifed for - they also drag down the number. My point is that it is exremely rare for a white, t1 aba, barbri, ny student to fail.

I would expect a power bottom like yourself to understand this. no?

and yes, there are many NY specific distinctions in the MBE subjects

also NYMC is 3x harder than MBE

For me I find the essays easier. The reason is that I find less twists and bullshit in the essays. The mbe, specifically barbri, throws so many red herrings in there that it gets annoying and time consuming to shift through the bs. with essays, issue spotting and a competent outline is enough to grab the points you need. if you put down bll that should be enough to get your 5 points right there.

I find the barbri essays to be rape-tastic. Maybe because many essay answers come from the CMR, not lectures. I haven't touched the CMR.

Stop working on MBE and go full out on essays. 75% on barbri = 95% on bar, assuming reasonably intelligent.
