I had the opportunity to attend a DCNG at sticker, but instead chose to attend the University of North Dakota School of Law with a full scholarship. Honestly, I have had a few times when I questioned the decision, but by and large, I believe it was the right decision for me.
You can definitely get a full scholarship to a great law school, and avoid having to beg and whine for a student loan bailout!!!

UND was great, but I grew up in South Dakota, so I am in love with the area. Others might not be so enamored with Grand Forks, but it was great for me.
I am working with the state government.
You can absolutely get a scholarship at a large number of schools, in whatever state you choose. :-)

I'm looking at UND, seems like you have a huge inherent advantage since you are from that area.
Yearly Tuition: Resident, ~$9,500; Resident of a neighboring state, ~$13,500; Nonresident, $~23,000
Also not too sure about this info: Median private sector salary: $48,000 (Class of 2008, a scant 30% reporting)

There is not a lot of biglaw in the Dakotas. That salary sounds correct to me. Money goes a lot further out here, but you still won't be "balling out of control" or living a "models & bottles" lifestyle.
If that is your goal, you might want a law school in a large city.

Wasn't too hard for me, but there are definitely folks that are struggling out there right now. Jobs are not guaranteed, and you might have to work for it. It does help that we're the only school in the state, though.
