so reviewing some things. and remembered my surgery rotation. when you read the theory behind it you really understand how surgeons actually save lives time and again. you know most gall bladders and appendices can kill even a healthy person. or how about thos GI doctors, they get those ulcers and bile duct stones and sometimes even early periampullary cancers and of course those colonoscopies. how about doing that in some rural area like Lake Tahoe?

they provide real value to people. u know if a surgeon removed your gb and opened up your bile ducts he actually made more of a difference in your life than if you were being raped by a pack of niggers and somebody intervened. that would've been only psychological damage. but here u got something that would definitely kill u and a surgeon completely saved your life. damn i am tired. i spent the entire day jerking off and now i am so far behind on my studying i feel like just giving up. and it's also very easy to study if i just weren't so behind. if i were a surgeon I'd just remove those GB and appendixes without having to do any homework whatsoever. and in a rural area u are the big shot.

damn. was just reading about GI in my review book. and then decided to look up an article online. because in the review book they did not mention that MRI is the best test for chronic pancreatitis. so now that I see what mri looks like it's basically a color-blindness test. any monkey could see the pancreas is abnormal if u know that u're looking at the pancreas. as long as you can tell apart different shades of grey.

radiologists need to learn "chronic inflammation/fibrosis->decreased proteinaceous fluid content in the pancreas->looks hypointense on T1 and hyperintense on T2 and less early enhancement and heterogenous with gadolinium, blabla. any other doctor can just tell "tail of the pancreas looks different from the rest of the pancreas".

maybe. what do u think of the future of the following procedures in IR: embolization of uterine fibroids(any turf issues?), gastric artery embolization for weight loss (so far experimental), prostate artery embolization? could u make a career just doing that?

BPH. i think if u did prostate and fibroids and gastric artery all day, u'd be balling. these patient populations are much healthier than the ones with PAD.

it's not very competitive to get radiology, it's becoming more like path. but i bet on the fact that the job market reverses by the time I'm done, or maybe i'll just move to eastern Europe and do teleradiology for $100k/yr or something. i notice that in the hospital and outpatient they don't even do much of a physical exam, they just order ct/mri for everything. and then they pretend that they are the ones interpreting the images.
