hate to say it because i'm not a fan, but TX seems pretty credited these days. your purchasing power there is so much better than almost anywhere else in the country, and employment markets are really strong in any city where you'd want to live. the metroplex and san antonio have actual culture and it's not as hick as you might think. both seem to be full of transplants. |

You're right that it's not hick the way it's portrayed in popular culture. And I guess I'm spoiled by the relatively decent job market here compared to rest of country. |

port townsend is the tiniest place of all. he's talking about moving to a state cold. you need to find a stable job, housing, and have some kind of social infrastructure around you. |

and lol at anacortes having no amenities. all kinds of suburban type shit within 20 minutes one way and 30 the other. its the most 180 small town to live in in the country if you want a variety of outdoors access. thousands of acres of protected forest within the city, most underrated national park in the US is an hour away, deception pass is right there, ferry to Victoria, etc |
