The fact is you have to have deep long lasting connections with people to really feel they have any loyalty.
What is different is that in other countries ppl keep the connections they have growing up because they never leave their hometown. In America people live in different cities for HS, UG, post UG, grad school, and post grad school. Even the most social humans cannot maintain close friendships living like that. I know ppl who are very social, were in frats in college, but they have very few friends because they moved around so much. |

I'm not particularly promiscuous. I had a 1.5 year relationship and a few that lasted a few months. The times I've had actual sex outside of a relationship, it was a relationship-track thing that didn't work out. I've made out girls in frathouse basements a few times, etc, but I wouldn't really call that promiscuous. And I stress that is not typical for me. I'm probably one of the most sexuality conservative people on this board, excluding people like SAD who just can't get laid.
I'm also not sure how you can read any of my posts in this thread as me blaming my woes on society (though I haven't read any of these posts for a few months so I expect you to quotepwn me shortly).
