I wrote so many scripts for years I wrote with guts and blood and tears While waiting for a prince to show Who’d read my work and quickly know -
To be excited as can be! Oh boy, would he believe in me! He’d hand out checks and go produce While I squeeze out creative juice
But after years of passive lies I wisened up and realized That when it comes to my career That prince-producer has been here
There is no pot of gold somewhere Nor dream producers anywhere Just friends and passion and mistakes That’s what it takes
