If I had to choose, I would definitely choose DBs though. I've injured myself with bench multiple times, but never with DBs.

No reason not to use both, but dumbell bench can get a bit awkward as you move to higher weights. Also, many gyms don't carry any dumbells over 80-90 lbs so you need barbells to go heavier.
