Selling everything Monday. Bump this in a year and a half and we'll see if I was right.

What should I be putting that money into now? Real estate the next bubble?

I don't know which product best fits with your theory, but if you're planning to go flat equities, then I figure there's a chance you'd want to go short. I have read that good traders make good decisions as independently of their positions as possible. So, if selling while long is a good do, then selling while flat should be too.

"Good do" are you from New York? Never heard this phrase.but seems similar to using "ask" as a noun.

What's your thesis on the time horizon for that bounce? Wouldn't surprise me if that happens in a year or year and a half. Don't think it's going to happen in 2 months.

Most of my money is in index funds with the intent of staying there until I retire, so I'm not going to attempt to time anything with that.

I do have a second pot of money, which I hope to buy a house with in the next 5 years. I'm curious if XO has any ideas on where I should stash that, given the short term window.

I wasn't that invested in the market back in 2008 or super knowledgeable, but looking back at that, that was pretty clear it was going to suck for 3 years or so in the market and you would be better off just going to cash and then getting back in later.

I see the same thing here. Can't have rest of world crashing and expect a good market here.
