all the professions where reasonably high IQs are needed just use proxies. standardized test scores, brain teasers, etc.
even low level jobs try to filter people out. when i was a teenager, i applied to CVS for a cashier job. they give you a 100 question "personality test," but it really just repeats the same 20 questions over and over.
then they see if you can finish the test and answer consistently without giving up and randomly bubbling in answers. that's got to filter out anyone with a sub 85-90 IQ but it's technically not an intelligence test.
