Those VAST SWATHS of moderate Republicans are the most rabid anti-Trumpers that you will ever meet. Most moderate Republicans are "business Republicans" - UMC, the only middle income people they know personally are those who chose a less remunerative career that requires a masters (art, certain types of teaching, nonprofits), socially liberal but not SJW, work hard, make good $$$, don't want to get taxed.

They find Trump's lack of polish as well as the "scrappiness" of the more vocal elements of his base to be actively off-putting. They could put up with the values voters and Christian coalition because these people didn't rule the party.

Or, they're women / minorities (or even minority women) and find many aspects of Trump's flirtation with the alt-right to be absolutely reprehensible.

Trumpmos don't comprehend the visceral disgust that so many have for Trump, including many GOP/conservative females. Trump's negative ratings are preposterous. There is no way Clinton could have driven up Rubio's or Ryan's negatives to anywhere near that level. Clinton is a much weaker candidate than Obama. The GOP would have won with a bunch of normal candidates (EC would have been relatively tight, like 2004).
