MBA is flame, unless top 20. Law is obviously FLAME. PHD even in STEM is flame and will make you suicidal. Masters in engineering doesn't seem like it substantially raise compensation to 200k+ unless you do software and work at the big 4 of silicon valley. What's left?

the cartel can't hold out forever though. there's basically no reason for pharmacists to exist since it's exactly the kind of thing computers can do better than any human (dispense meds and recognize conflicts with conditions). it's just inputting data and spitting out an answer

also 100k for a 4-year professional degree is pretty shitty

130k in a coastal urban elite area isn't high paying though. of course as a pharmacist you're choosing to make that in such a place instead of taking 110k in raleigh or whatever, which is pretty nice

a single person can easily afford a condo on that salary. think 500k range, 5-10 years out of school.

a married person with a working spouse can easily afford a single family house in a decent area, 5-10 years out of school. think 700k.

a married person with a non-working spouse is fucked, though.

very familiar with the real estate market here. we're in a bubble, it'll be cheaper still in the next 2-3 years.

Explanation about what, why some music is better than other music? I'm not bothering because you clearly don't believe that quality in music is "relative" and are just being intentionally obtuse to try to "win" this exchange

No, I'm not a lawyer nor do I have a stick up my ass about being wrong. But it is funny that you think there are objective standards in art, are not capable of articulating why or how that might be the case, and then yell about winning arguments and being obtuse.

Listen to Beethoven piano Sonata no. 26 and find me anything written in the last 100 years which approaches the same simultaneous levels of completixity (through counterpoint and thematic development), beauty and accessibility. The simplicity and repetitiveness of modern popular music makes it incomparable for anyone with a discerning ear.

Are you really so dense you needed me to explain this to you?

Any that teach you a job skill. That leaves out law, unless you go to HYS, in which case firms will give you paid training after you graduate.

One-year MBA from Oxbridge as a pseudo-legitimate cultural capital degree.

I think tuition is only $25,000.

This is kind of like going to a crappy law school. It has some lay prestige, but others know that it's worthless open enrollment crap.

OFS.

But a crappy LS degree costs $300,000 and 3 years.

This degree costs $40,000 and 1 year.

if you want to work in certain areas a phd in engineering/cs is worth it for what you'll do as a career, even if the income gained is marginal (in the case of CS for certain specialties it can be pretty lucrative)

md, in-state dental school, in-state (or funded if you're very lucky) cs/engineering masters (if you graduated from a non-top school and want to buff up your skills a bit) can all be credited too

more than you'd think tbh, although obviously still not an option for the vast majority of people

the most successful physics phd I know is basically a 1400 SAT grinder. he was good at math/science but not some out of this world genius. a lot of it is hard work and willingness to not be deterred by the ultra-smarts at the top

Masters in applied statistics?

Any science PhD that pays >$25k if you're actually set on academia or something and know the 6 years of low pay and thankless work at your intellectual level and age won't destroy your drive and self esteem while everyone around you buys homes and gets married and has kids and retirement funds and actual vacations and shit
