Is the furniture that much better than whatever you can get at living spaces for 1/2 the price or less?
I am guessing no.

the beds at C&B are good quality, really.
you're just paying big bucks for all that "style"

you can get nice things at Crate & Barrel and you can also get some real SPS
the salespeople at C&B are snotty cunts, just ignore them
you should check out Pier One and Target for potentially comparable items at a much lower cost

i only buy things if they're on sale
check out Home Goods, then
don't bother with Ross or TJ Maxx, total SPS (and overrun with Mexicans and Hindus)

you can't buy couches at Target, but you can get accent tables and houseware-type stuff
you just have to have a lot of time to shop carefully and be choosy
moast men would rather just pay bigger bucks for top quality and be done with it

Check out cb2.com
It's crate and barrels more modern and slightly more affordable line. Stuff is very good quality and customer service has been pretty good IME.

Why the fuck are there no Cal King bedframes?
Is everyone a shortmo? I feel like your feet hang over the bed if you are 6'1 or taller unless you are lying against the headboard.

Luxury goods have marginal benefits not worth it to most people - news at 11.
Seems like you want a reason to justify buying it at C&B because you are such a striver. Sad!

these places are a huge racket. how much can it cost to make a shitty bed frame or couch? the marginS must be insane

it's expensive because they have really good marketing and brand recognition for what they do, and none of the stuff is "ugly" (where "good" is whichever direction the yuppie winds are blowing in a given year)
you could say the exact same thing for design within reach, just a smaller niche and furniture that's 10x as expensive

Living spaces is decent!
I wouldn't buy a upholstered bed. Also for something like a bed, you don't put beverages and scratch the wood often (unlike a desk or dining table or coffee table) so I don't see the point of getting a nice wood bed. I honestly think IKEA bedframes work.
I find room and board to be nicer quality than c&b for similar prices.
