If they want to take off, nobody asks them to cancel their trip. So, enjoy it as a junior. Take lots of vacations, travel abroad, and bill the minimal number of hours. If you happen to stay until you're a senior associate, nobody knows or remembers what you did as a junior (unless your work was shit). Date: April 20th, 2017 8:03 PM Author: flesh foreskin Lowest is probably 1850 or 1900 (early in my career). Highest is last year at 2850. Average isn't that high -- probably 2100. But the last few years have been way above average.
My group will keep you around if you're making money, especially because there is a lack of good senior associates. Probably defer deciding your progression for a bit and eventually make you counsel. |

the people not making partner are all billing below 2000... but even they are sticking around as long as they are liked and billing at least 1800 (i.e., making the firm money). |
