Racquetball uses a larger, lighter rubber ball that bounces easily; it's a lot like a tennis ball without the fuzz. Squash uses a tiny rubber ball that doesn't bounce as much. If you live on the East Coast squash is probably more popular. In middle America racquetball is dominant. |

Reason for this revolves around squash being generally exclusive to "clubs", tennis is a mix of club/public, and racquetball is almost exclusively public.
