On the east coast I wouldn't even shave, I would just walk into a place and get hired on the spot.
I literally spent a month walking around to every single restaurant downtown, uptown, looking for a gig waiting tables.
And when I finally found one it was at the fucking Old Spaghetti Factory.
My first week I was so pissed off I made like $60 in tips and had to give $30 of it away in tipouts to the bartenders, barbacks and shit.
Then I'm riding my bike home and get a $10 ticket for not having a headlight on my bike at night. I just moved to California and didn't even know that was a thing.
Bros, I was so irate, I told the cop he's lucky I decided to stop for him.
"Why's that?" he asked me.
"Because I'm the fastest motherfucker you've ever seen on a bike."
He told me it was a strange thing to say. |
