Her older bro and his gf come over. This dude is a former junkie, never held onto a job, college dropout loser that always has a TENDER look. He has this insincere innocence, an air of self-righteousness because he's been sober for 25 days (he hasn't and probably never will).

Anyway, this guy shows up all gentle and soft-spoken, looking like a recovering victim of child molestation, and all of a sudden PARTY'S OVER. Put away the bud, stop drinking, everyone sits up straight. I'm just about drunk enough to tell my wife I ain't having it. We're in the kitchen and I'm mixing THREE Pimms Cups (one for me, one for her younger bro, one for wife's smokin' hot 19 y/o cousin). Wife gives me a look like "what are you doing?" And I know I shouldn't bite. I know I should make the drinks and quietly dismiss her. I couldn't help it.

Fuck this dude raining on everybody's parade because he OD'd three times in the last decade. I ain't walkin' on egg shells. Ain't gonna break up my party. So we get into it, she's saying I'm making drinks for underage kids (her younger bro is 20, give me a fucking break), I've had too much to drink already, haven't eaten since breakfast and (whispers) "my BROTHER is right outside." So I go, "I don't give a shit. If your degenerate brother can't handle being around some mixed drinks maybe he should spend Labor Day weekend in the E.R. like he did last year and stop ruining my fucking good vibes." No less than ONE SECOND later, he turns into the kitchen and says "I'm sorry man, you can drink. Maybe I should get going." Him and his gf leave SUPER DRAMATICALLY. EVERYONE turns on me INSTANTLY. Fucking snakes. Then this guy gets convinced, by my mother in law, via cell phone, to come back. He comes back and gives me a hug in front of everyone - super dramatic again.

It's now 3 hours after dinner, things have finally cooled down and now this dude is in the back drinking beers ("I can have a beer, just everybody chill the fuck out!" he told a room full of 15+ completely flabbergasted family and friends) while his girlfriend is hysterically crying. Wife's parents are freaking out. Not a good situation, bros. Gonna be a long night.
