The board might seem insensitive since it was released so close to the Vegas shooting. It can be taken the wrong way considering the nature of this board. In fact opposite might be true. We might be the first people to freely discuss gun control without the haze of political affiliations involved in the background. I hope people can really speak they mind. Because what happened in Vegas was absolutely disgusting. There's no reason a man needs a modification to be able to shoot 400 rounds a minute. There is no reason, period.

I don't know. What I do know is that it's unacceptable what was used in Vegas. It's extremely disturbing listing to audio of the automatic fire raining down on those concer goers. It seems so wrong in every conceivable way for a man to be able to modify his gun to that capability in a non military setting.

Thing is it takes no modifications to bump fire a gun, the slide stocks just make it easier. You can take a standard off the shelf $400 M&P Sport and bump off 100 round drums with just a little practice

Then we need to be able to make that harder to do. If it's so easy to do, has no practical use, and it can cause such devastation, then there needs to be something done.

It's inherent to a semi automatic design. Anything that you do is going to be banning tens of millions of rifles already on the street, including ancient grandpa rifles which would never be used in a mass shooting.

Your real issue is not the rifle or its modifications but rather how it was used by a person. If I were to make the same modification to my rifle and only shoot it at a gun range is that a problem?

Make it less easy. Obviously the problem is the person. But if we make it less easy or nearly impossible to do it like that, then it might save some lives. So far we're not doing anything else to address the issue.

"So far we're not doing anything else to address the issue."

Is it your understanding that there are no gun regulations in place? Cause it seems like we have done lots of things to address the issue of making rapid fire weapons harder to obtain.

We need MORE. That's the point. We need more and more, until we can't think of any more gun control legislation to even write up.
