Date: October 17th, 2017 10:57 AM Author: Misanthropic Really Tough Guy So a guy I went to graduate school with is now a professor at some dumb rich kid college and he also writes poetry and novels. None of his stuff is "readable"--Like you couldn't just sit down and read it for enjoyment. It's like everything has to be cerebral and offputting. But he still manages to find publishers for his work eventually. He had a couple of his more lucid poems in really top of the line poetry magazine but other than that, there's some obvious circle jerk stuff. He's a funny guy and when he just writes straight it's amusing to read, but he never does. It's all argle-bargle nonsense. Like pages and pages of it. So, are people like this really "writers?" I mean it's stuff that maybe his college professor network makes their kids buy and read for class maybe? But honestly it doesn't make a lick of sense and I just cant imagine anyone sitting down to read it and enjoy it. But he's always going on and on in his blog and such about how he has productive ties "working on his next novel" which is just something insane and then he sends it out and as I said eventually finds some offbeat publisher for it. Are people like this "WRITERS"? Or just educators w a hobby? |

THE DEATH OF A TOAD

He'd never write that kind of stuff, just jibber jabber nonsense he obsesses over but it's pretty annoying and guys like the above do the same thing with some sort of coherency as well. |

So, he writes pages and pages of gibberish, finds some publisher who publishes about 50 percent gay literature ... but still nobody reads his stuff--is he a writer or just a professor playing the system? He takes his writing very seriously, is very solemn about it. When he writes to be understood, he's witty and charming and likeable, but he never fucking writes like this in his "novels" |
