I was migrating some Java6 binaries to Java8 and there was some string compatibility issues. So Java6 is compatible with Java8 except if your program uses strings for some reason. |

Java really has a performance advantage, but there are only certain applications that need it. Like say gmail's login service. Like you say the corporate environment is C# and Java. If you want to work for Indians it's the way to go. The H1-B environment is getting harder so eventually things will get better, but eventually we'll either be dead or too old to get hired. (let's be real) And Indians are the biggest racists on Earth and they taking out #MAGA on the white man. If you don't believe me research how easy it is for a person of non-Indian heritage to see how easy it is to work in their technology industry.
Not that you'd want to they haven't built a train since the white man built them one during the Indian Raj (which they resent). Power is not a full time thing, you can get the death penalty but still if they're going to send a bunch of monkeys here to send their wages back to Punjab, the least they can do as hypothetically let us do the same (even if conditions are so bad nobody would take them up)
It's sort of a situation like where Peterman gets fucked up the ass by a trucker without getting at least paid for it. |

In the trades government usually regulates whether you can complete work or not. You need "Master" or "Journeyman" status to sign off on work.
