I just hung out with him in Ojai a few days ago for a brain injury case we are working on together.

Honestly, I don't mean this to sound egotistical in any way at all. When I met him I realized his personality is almost identical to mine. The things about him that make juries love him are very similar to my personality. He and I are both high school dropouts too lol. Makes me want to try crazy cases and hit insane verdicts

As for the lecture. I think you can learn a lot from him. I think having mentors at that level is important if you want to develop into a great trial attorney. I've been thinking about doing the Gerry Spence trial lawyer college too. Have you looked into that?

yeah I looked at it. not really interested.

I've done nearly a dozen felony criminal state court trials and about 8 federal trials ranging from employment discrimination defense to 1983 defense (my first chair trial actually my firm was hired by a city in a 4th amendment wrongful shooting police case).

Never done plaintiff or prosecutor side but I think the skills translate. Have a 80+ defense rate on all counts. One case they gave nominal damages for finding discriminatory non-hire but the guy got an equal paying job so their damages were under the OJ so he got nothing and we got fees.
