genetic engineering, automation, AI - you're fighting the last war

suppose in 50 years genetic engineering lets us basically eradicate crime and ensure all newborns have an iq of 150+. medical ethics will be a drag on progress but it'll eventually bend the knee to modernity per usual.
meanwhile automation and AI keep relentlessly lowering production costs and boosting global living standards (set aside your unabomber/marxist fake trolling for the sake of argument). and travel, social media and internet access becomes increasingly accessible, cheaper and better, increasing ties across borders. so the nation state continues to creak under the weight of increasing cross border social/economic ties and non-state based security threats (obviously this means trump and brexit end up being the last gasps of a dying westphalian system).
if all that's true, aren't you and your “lib”/“sjw” enemies basically off somewhere fighting a totally irrelevant war with civil war era muskets?
