I'm imagining a scenario where somebody gets one and decides they don't like it as much as something else they could get in the price range, so trade it in after a year or two. |

Short of a tear down of the engine all a mechanic can tell you is whether cheap ancillaries need replacing and the status of the fuel injection which is the only real readily apparent sign that a lead footed driver did any damage to a two year old car unless the seller is a real idiot and just leaves the old oil in for you to see the damage.... If they don't change out all the fluids after a track day the car will age like 1 year in basically in a week of subsequent use.
