I found that whole middle section where they spend like twenty-five minutes discussing the epiphenomenalist view of life and its implications for the moral-ethical point of death to be jarring and it didn't fit at all between the first and second capital ship battles. It also felt somewhat out of character to have Kylo leading that discussion with the mercenaries when he was supposedly "fatally injured" just moments before by the droid bomb. And Luke's constant pushing of the point throughout that "if you accept this philosophy, then you NEED to support structural healthcare reform throughout the new republic!" seemed way out of left field. A lot of missed opportunities for better editing IMHO
