If the senate remains basically 50/50 in 2019, then he could be fucked. there are a lot of moderate senators in the GOP who would easily turn on Trump, and there are opportunists like Cruz and Rubio who would turn on him just to increase their chances of becoming President in 2020/2024. |

Generic ballots and Presidential approval numbers are shown to be highly correlated with how a President's party fares in the first midterm.
this is also backed up by ACTUAL RESULTS, which have consistently shown democrats outperforming Hillary's 2016 numbers.
If that continues to be the case then Democrats win right there, as there are 23 republicans sitting in districts hillary won. There are another two dozen in districts Trump barely won. |

Clinton voting districts alone would make the house even. There are also a lot of marginal Trump districts where he is very unpopular. Democrats are leading in multiple Iowa districts for instance. |
