Date: January 12th, 2018 10:52 AM Author: Effete Prole Arcanum is great: Well written, mostly about story and the world experience. I had more fun with the go to powerful character build and exploring the world than I did trying to become a tech master. The combat is meh.
Fallout2 is great, fun, tons to do. starts out a bit rough but you can become over powered pretty quick if you know what you're doing. more campy than the first fall out, storywise, but way more stuff to do.
Bloodlines is great. good story, good world, 2000s goth aesthetic is awesome, combat is actually fun and you can sneak and do diplomatic shit too. each vampire race is pretty unique iirc. its been a while since i played
Fallout1 has a more atmospheric story but at some significant user experience costs, some are fixed in modding but the companion AI is dumb as shit and inventory management is burdensome.
Ultima7, like animeboi said is a great world to explore but the combat is ass. definitely use Exult or something to play it.
I never got into BG or any of those AD&D games.
Morrowind may be a bit too modern for "classic" but its good too. You can get mods to pretty it up and the world is huge. Lots to do.

But it seems like the more I play good old RPGs the more I regret plowing 100s of hours into total shit games like Skyrim |
