The inciting incident is literally a computer simulation of the greatest fighters of all time on sportscenter where Rocky beats the current champ and the current champ gets all butthurt about it. Rocky's whole restaurant is full of people cheering on his digital avatar in an entire first act that was among the most shameless feats of GC self-pleasuring that has ever occurred in any form of media.
Since Stallone pushed out Coogler after Coogler was the single-minded force behind Creed, which began as a film school project for him, I think we can expect similar results from Creed 2. It likely ends with Rocky stepping into the ring for Adonis and fighting both Drago Jr. and his dad simultaneously, winning in dramatic fashion and then mumbling incoherently about how they'll think twice before they try to hack our election again. |
