Date: February 2nd, 2018 6:12 PM Author: cerise useless brakes The only hobby I've ever discussed on XO is travel. I do love to travel, though obviously I will not travel for a bit while we have a newborn. I have been to a decently large number of foreign countries and US states.
I have a few other hobbies. Let's just say that in more than one of these hobbies, I have been recognized as one of the best people in my region at this particular hobby. So like, if say my hobbies involved playing board games, I'm a former regional champion at Catan or something like that.
My wife does work. I could probably make more than $200k if I truly set out to do that, but because I am CONTENT with my lot in life I would rather stay where I am, where I am comfortable and secure.
I don't think I will make a particularly great father but I must reproduce to pass on my genes. Worse men than me have been successful fathers. |

I'm still very ambitious when it comes to my hobbies, so much so that I've heard that people who are just casually into my hobbies for fun find me too intense to deal with. And I still have a bad habit for volunteering for stuff that sounds prestigious even though it's more work than I care to do.
People will be like "hey, do you want to be in charge of organizing the office Halloween party" and my mind will be like "IN CHARGE! Take it! Make the best Halloween party ever!" and then two weeks later I'm stuck ordering orange decorative paper and I'm like "wtf, why did I volunteer for this shit" |

In 7th grade, I can remember telling people that I would get a masters degree AND a PhD in Political Science and then they would elect me Governor because I was so well educated. I think I had just read a biography of Woodrow Wilson, the only Political Science PhD to become POTUS, which put that idea into my head.
By my freshman year of college, political science was a chance to get a great GPA while taking classes on things that legitimately interested me. College was fun because my classes were interesting and easy. I goofed off all day and got straight A's. |

This is because the tests were basically pre-ordained, and you would pass if you went to super expensive prep academies and got to know all of the local elites.
