The act of farting, a necessary biological function, is not inherently moral or immoral. The way in which one exercises the function brings about the moral question. It would be immoral to fart on an elevator or subway train or any enclosed space where others would be subjected to the rank interior malodorous colonic expulsions. However where it does not affect others negatively, one may fart with impunity and no fear of moral retribution.
