This is supposed to be a speakeasy but felt more like a normal bar, since it was located below a Japanese restaurant with no special entrances. Ironically the Japanese restaurant located above was more hidden as it required you to use the building dial-in for access through the door. Date: February 19th, 2018 3:59 PM Author: Narrow-minded Spectacular Heaven Prole i'll be the contrarian and say reviewer has a point. i think the idea of a bar as speakeasy *at all* is incredibly annoying and douchey myself. but if a bar *bills* itself as a speakeasy and fails to have one or more of the essential qualities of being a speakeasy, like inconspicuous or clandestine location/appearance, it's failing in some regard and it's not unreasonable for reviews to reflect that.
it's like if a bar billed itself as a "Sports Bar" but when you went all that really means is that they do have TVs and will put the game on if you ask. they're fundamentally failing to be what a sports bar is supposed to be, but that probably sounds like a trivial annoying distinction to a girl who just hates sports and sports bars in general. |
