White people letting little millenial spawn jam to Aretha Franklin, Anita Baker, et al.

This went along with the Reggae craze. Bob Marley became this santized gc icon overnight

Ok, this was more of a 60s and 70s boomer nostalgia-fest. I don't think the shitboomers have ever been into contemporary r&b

Ah. I meant like how Ja Rule and Flo Rida incorporated a lot of R&B samples and R&B beats into mainstream hip-hop in the early 2000's and early 2010's, respectively

I was a little snot-nosed kid in the early 1990's and had no idea that boomers were into classic R&B back then. To be fair, a lot of classic R&B is very good.

It was a passing trend, but it real. I still get triggered when I hear "Respect", picturing yuppie boomers grooving to it "Big Chill" style

Wtf are you talking about. Early 90s R&B was garbage like Boyz 2 Men, En Vogue, P.M. Dawn, CeCe Peniston, Silk, Jodeci etc and was popular. There was no "reggae craze", ever, in the US.

You're mostly right about reggae. It was mire like a BM "Don't Worry be Happy" craze
