"I've been silent. It's been a day for reflection. I'd like to make one post then, tomorrow, I wake up united behind our country.
Friends, for me, this loss feels personal. Three reasons why:
-The highly educated, hard working, experienced female once again got bested by the less educated, insensitive, popular male.
-The, what feels like, a Jenga tower of women's rights/human rights that my mother, Candace, and mother-in-law, Teresita, and many other female and male Trail Blazers have been building for us for so many years, just crumbled a few pieces.
-I respect all Dems and Repubs that don't like Hillary, but let it be known I have unabashedly loved her since she was First Lady. I voted for her in the 2008 primaries. I voted for her in the 2016 primaries. I voted for her for President of the United States.
And, ultimately, I feel like I am the one that failed our Hillary. She's been through so much. She's fought for this country and all its people at every turn. She's worked harder than any other female politician to break the glass ceiling.
Here's the clincher. Neither of us - highly educated, hard working, experienced females - like to fail...do we Hillary? We're perfectionists, right? I am so sorry. I am so sorry. This is, indeed, painful.
To Hillary: tearfully, thank you. You inspire me. I have seen through the girl-keep-it-together front since the beginning. You ARE relatable because you are me - highly educated, hard working, experienced, perfectionist...and, as always, a woman who is supposed to keep it together.
To President-elect Trump, I welcome and respect you representing me. Look forward to seeing how you do it.
To Americans: I love you all.
