but also not the point. you see how credentials work to get into elite schools, now think about the doors the elite school opens later. if 20–30% of spots at elite schools are taken by people who have no chance in hell of making it, then they've reduced LONG-TERM competition from non-coastal UMC whites who are more deserving, because they didn't get dat credential in the first place, just like they didn't get the bullshit softs because no one played that game in Kansas. |

Of course, I can tell you that are country bros in my uni were not doing the above because they are, in fact, dumb af. And they were the best are country had to offer that didn’t get into Ivey league, because of the quality of my public uni.
To edit this post: True elites don't care about AA because their children are genetically more intelligent, type A, and striverish than 99% of the rest of the population. If an elite has a kid that can't crack 175 on the LSAT, those parents will resign themselves to having had a "dumber" kid. The standards are high for true elites in a way many of the race realists on this site don't seem to understand |

The types of jobs where prestigious institutions count for something, but are largely non skill based since otherwise they could easily be out-competed for skill-based job.
Roles that would fall under this set of criteria would be largely administrative, govt., HR, diversity offices, bullshit roles etc.
Scary but you're spot on - AA is feeding on itself in some sort of ideological-incompetence positive feedback loop that will get exponentially worse. So we're left today with institutions and companies full of under-qualified, entitled ideologues who believe they are the victim in this whole game so guess what policies will keep getting peddled by corrupt entitled ideologues filling up the HR, govt and admit / social positions across the U.S.
Also something interesting - there's some very good evidence recently that's been published in top Economics journals over the last 10-15 years finding a lot of empirical evidence for the mismatch theory which hurts legitimately talented STEM-interested minorities. (I've posted the links here several times before but if anyone's interested I'm happy to dig up again) Basically what what happens is that these minority students are obviously given admissions points above what their cognitive talent is worth were they not minority status. So naturally we're throwing them into a university experience where they have to compete while being at the bottom of the cognitive distribution in their class on average. For STEM majors this can have a huge effect because for many of these majors students are actually expected to be challenged and do a lot of hard work.
So many of these minority students that started out in STEM majors with genuine interest in e.g. engineering get overwhelmed and have to switch to easier majors. The papers control for other factors while comparing minority students that get generous AA points vs those that don't , and ones that do get those generous AA points have lower graduation rates, income, rates of attending graduate school etc. than their counterparts who just went to a lower ranked institution. |

I went to an Elite HS and the class was split up between the kids of the elite, whose parents basically just paid for higher grades and the faculty/teachers when called out on it went to great lengths deny it, and then the rest of us who had to fight tooth and nail for the grades that were left.

If a kid of a rich family got caught on honor code violations (like plagarism or cheating etc) they would get a slap on the wrist instead of being expelled
