His main concern is his daughter-- so his interaction with his "wife" (they are not really married) is designed to minimize her craziness and the possibility she flips and leaves and takes the kid. So, it isn't like he doesn't have motivation for acting the way he does with his wife. That said, the longer he goes without standing up to the wife, the harder it is going to get for him. She needs to know that he gets a say in how the family is run, particularly since her decisions for him, her and the kid haven't turned out well. If he doesn't stand up to her soon, like now, and continue to do so, he might as well divorce her (or whatever) because things are only going to get worse. |
