A theory two people in the past hour now have floated: another team plotted to have Josh Allen’s racially insensitive tweets put out just before the draft in order to increase the chances he would fall in the draft to that team.

i think mayfield and rosen are in a tier above darnold and allen.

i slightly lean mayfield over rosen. mayfield reminds me so much of drew brees it's scary.

as for the second tier, i guess i'd pick darnold over allen, but it's close. i think both have a chance of busting. allen's footwork is atrocious, and he's all over the place more than in the pocket, but he makes some absolutely unreal throws. his arm is ridiculous. darnold is more polished, but he has a long release and i don't really like his presence in the pocket. i also wonder how his arm strength will translate to the nfl, not that it's weak.

None of the T4 QBs seem head and shoulders above the rest. One or more of those 4 is guaranteed to be around when they pick again at #4.

There's probably a team desperate to not get shut out of the T4 QBs (e.g. the Buffalo Bills) who will offer an overpay to get "their guy" at #1.

That would be a very prudent move if enough value were offered. It's important to note that the Browns' current GM and much of his underlings are ex-Packers staff who came up under the tutelage of Ted Thompson, who *absolutely* would trade down if the value was there.

So I would watch out for them to do that. There's an obvious pitfall in that if the QB they end up taking at #4 flames out, they would have egg on their face for not taking the "best" QB available. So they might end up going with the safest QB, and I think that's clearly Darnold.

My guess is no one moves up. Miami takes Rosen, Bills get Allen and Cardinals take Lamar Jackson.
