Same. I actually have a few of the thermostats and smoke/CO2 alarms. They work perfectly and sync awesomely.
Thermostats in the main living area, garage, and mother-in-law allow me to control everything and check on house temperatures even when I'm away at work. I'm gone half the year.
Both well worth the money.

Ubiquity's offerings with respect to cameras (and other networking hardware) are much better than NesTTT's and don't entail a monthly fee. Also, all modern air conditioning units are designed to communicate with the company's thermostat. You may be leaving a lot of functionality on the table if you have such a system and use Nest.

Also, their WiFi access points are 180:

Nest for thermostat & ceiling smoke detectors. The motion sensing night light aspect of all of those is nice.
Use a Netgear Arlo 5 camera system for exterior monitoring & 1 floating camera we position indoor when we travel or have someone working inside the house.

I don't love shit like Alexa that is always listening though. You have to focus on the data elements they actually get.
"Is TMF's house on fire?" -- not a huge problem
"What offensive shit is TMF saying?" -- huge problem

i have the thermostats, which i really like. problem is that whenever my boomer parents/inlaws are over, they can't figure out how to use them and end up calling me to adjust them remotely from my phone.
Anyone know what the battery life on the smoke detectors is? I don't know if my smoke detectors are wired or not...

update: thinking about getting the indoor cam IQ as a baby monitor, the outdoor cam IQ for protection, the doorbell and the nest x yale lock. already have the thermostat. debating whether to get the security system or not, seems like flame. are these things even worth it?
even without the security system all this shit is like $1150 before tax.

Two of the thermostats and the doorbell and I think they’re all great.
I used to have the skybell doorbell. Bought it back in 2015 when they were relatively new to the market and it was always very buggy and had trouble getting it to ever work right for an extended period of time.
Haven’t had any problem with the nest doorbell since it was installed.
I also added a hydrawise wifi Controller this year for my sprinkler system and so far so good I like it and it does a good job of not sprinkling on days when there’s going to be enough rain and sprinkling more when it’s really hot and less when it’s cool.
