The most interesting news coming out of of this week's Milo update, is that the penalties of bad behavior have changed.
Rather than losing your PoS Stake if you fail to reveal a random number, you will now only lose your share of the block rewards. (You still lose your PoS Stake if you commit actively bad behavior in your production/signing of new blocks.)
The downside of the change is that now those Adversaries will have an easier time manipulating the selection process of the bakers of the next block. The Tezos dev team presumably believes that enough good actors will contribute to the randomness of the block selection number, such that the Adversaries will still be unable to gain much of an advantage.
The benefit of the change is that now more parties will be able to contribute to the baking/PoS process, without fear of major punishments due to losing internet connection for short periods of time.
