Ron Powlus's recruitment scared off Frazier, probably the best college QB of the 90s, and Moss, while technically committed and accepted, scared off the adcom by submitting an elementary school level essay the summer before enrolling and so had his acceptance revoked.

Moss was convicted and did a few days in jail for a school fight. I suppose that could have been a pretext for rescinding the offer, but Moss seems pretty bright (if unmotivated for a football player). He was kicked out of FSU for smoking pot while on probation.
