General Dynamics on the M1 went with Thales optics but the back end for the Thales matrix is a Yankee system and its slower and less accurate than the European original. TTT import substitution means Yankee optics are slower and less accurate. The Russkies actually did the same thing. Their tanks have the same Thales matrix but with a Russian back end.
