Not possible unless she was self employed which I dont think she was. If ur selfemploymo u can put 18k plus 25% of your wages as an ER contribution up to some cap I cant remember, 50k or something. Or maybe there is no cap. Some years I put over 30k into my 401k, its 180

Oh it may have been possible she did 60k if her ER did an insane match.

If you had employer match you are allowed to go above the 18.5k limit?

yep, regular employees dont realize this, there are so many tax benefits to being a solo, once i calcualted that if i made 175k as an employee in a firm its equal to making just 125k as a solo post tax

???

Just looked at my account. I put $20k in on 1/30. Then I put $75k in btwn 2/5-9, $60k btwn 3/21-23 and $30k on 4/2.

I’ve tax loss harvested the 1/30 trade.

One can never time the market successfully but DCA is less stressful for me than putting in all my money at once in December. this will all be a wash in 30 years.

Jan 10th ish would’ve been better than 1/30 anyway since market was still 2800+ at the time. I bought 20k when it dropped around 1% because I didn’t know when the market would drop again. Lost a bunch and tax loss harvested on 3/23.

people were making fun of me for not putting in all my money into the market in late-dec. of course that changed in feb and March when it went sub-2600 and below dec levels.

Nobody can market time properly. I try to buy on dips and it doesn’t always work. I know that. Still too stressful for me to put in $200-250k at once. It won’t matter much over time.

i can't find the thread, but in it various posters, including yourself were bragging about putting money to work in market sometime in mid to possibly late Jan. i kept saying you were gonna get nigga wake ups and not make a dime on it at the current lvl's. this was just before we crashed in Feb.

protip: you can still get out.

there is always a chance of some kind of blow off top, in FANG stocks, but as always happens, this will end badly.

i think we have already seen the blow off top in DOW Jones stocks and probably SPX. Russell 2K is currently blown out on the monthly as well. usually Russell will top first, but things have become uncorrelated as of late.
