Russia would get dirt on clinton and trump would agree to remove US sanctions if elected. Trump and the campaign were never involved in getting the emails. Wikileaks (described as a russian agent in the indictment) was the "clean" entity used by Russia to leak the emails. Stone coordinated with wikileaks for the precise date and time of the release of the emails once the campaign got word of their existence.
Reports just came out today confirming that the special counsel is looking into Stone and wikileaks.

The unnamed "pass-through entity" named in the indictment is Wikileaks.
We'll see if there was coordination with the campaign regarding the release of the emails (likely was with Stone and Wikileaks given the release of private twitter messages between them) and whether such coordination constitutes a crime (I'm not sure it does). |
