BASE jumped up about 50% as a partner. Figure the bonus needs to as well to stay a meaningful amount over senior associate bonuses plus summer bonuses

my base is pretty much NYC 8th year salary and my bonus was 150.
but at a V50, i would expect the bonus to be tied to your actual performance, not globally. that is how they make their money - they choke the partners who are not in control of the business. You are no longer a line-item in a budget. You need the rainmaker partner to GIVE you his money.
newsflash. "they" will never part with a nickel unless they need to. |

Before I moved to biglaw I assumed lockstep was universal but it turns out a bunch of firms don’t do it. It’s ttt and gay. |
