basically at the factory, they took raw denim, and then beat it up and fucked with the colors to get whatever final color and style by the time it reaches the store rack
the problem with this is that you dont want them to fuck around with the raw denim - it should be broken in by repeated wears and normal use. this creates natural wrinkles and fading and softens the denim over time
so when you get selvage, you know its quality stuff, but going beyond selvage means youre just paying extra for marketing bullshit
and its very easy to spot selvage because you can feel how hard the raw denim is + the trademark selvage stitching when you turn the bottom cuff inside out
this aint rocket science |
