Thank you for the email but I found it confusing. Yes I do return a lot of items but I buy a hell of a lot of items too. Additionally, the vast, vast, vast majority of the items I return I indicate Item no longer needed and I then either pay the return shipping or make sure to drop it off at my local amazon depot at no cost.

I also try my best to evaluate if I need the product before using it - very often I return the item having only opened the box and not actually taken it out of the wrapping or what have you (which is what I did with a pair of headphones I bought and returned recently and which seemed to trigger this email). I have never to my recollection, for instance, used an item for a couple of weeks and then returned it in non-salable condition. If you have any records of my having done that or otherwise abused your return process, I'd appreciate you letting me know.

I use amazon a lot because it is a convenient service that provides me with all of the things I need quickly AND because it hasn’t given me a hard time about returns. When I was a poor student I may have tried to get away with things here and there but over the last 7-8 years I have tried my best to be 100% truthful and honest about my returns and not abuse amazon's policies. However this email is mildly threatening and makes me hesitant to shop at amazon for fear that if I want to return an item in the future I wouldn’t be allowed to.

Can you please respond and let me know what issues there are with my returns over the last, say, 3 years, in greater detail?
