They're currently accepting written statements from students on what they saw. In taking mine, they seemed to indicate they're not asking anybody for a statement. They also said they won't send out an announcement requiring statements.

Right now, they haven't indicated that they will take any action that involves movement outside of their own offices

I don't know why that would be an issue. Employers hire more when they know what they're getting. Imposing harsh sanctions (expulsion) on cheaters will help ensure that the school's degree means something. The worst thing a school could possibly do is to create doubt among employers as to the integrity of its grades.

The final was a closed book, 4 hour test. Someone hid notes in a bathroom.

That's a TTT way to cheat. Going to the bathroom takes a lot of time, and tests are usually pretty time pressured.

the bathroom was approximately 15 feet from the exit of the testing room.

It is a TTT way to cheat, but, relatively safe. This test had 3 essay questions. One was a commerce clause, one was takings, and one was a detail oriented substantive due process (needed to know all 6 opinions of griswold) If you didn't know who said what in griswold, a 5 minute look over the notes would be invaluable.

To be honest, during these tests lots of people go take a piss or a smoke. 4 hours is a shitton of time. I'm usually so strung out on red bull that i need to piss at least once. The proctors are 3Ls who are either playing solitaire or studying for their own finals; they don't give a fuck

I dunno. If someone left notes well hidden (under a newspaper, behind a toilet) and someone closed the door, they could probably read in peace as long as they didn't make any noise.

an outline in a trash can does not a cheater make.

in closed book exams, i always read my outline until exam time and throw it out right before i enter the test room. it's not like i'll need it at any point in the future, so i toss it.

is this whole thing is based off of an outline in a trash can?

The school is definitely planning sanctions. From what I've heard, if they can prove that anyone cheated beyond a fair level of doubt, (s)he's getting expelled. There is also a plan if they can't prove who did what to simply change the class to pass/fail. I hate that idea, i think i did well in con law
