One example off the top of my head is pole saws. Last I checked, many consider Echo's pole saw to be much better than Stihl's.
With that said, if you are unwilling or unable to research individual products prior to purchase, going with Stihl over Echo (assuming comparable lines of products (i.e., both commercial grade, both homeowners grade, etc.) is a safe strategy. |

On the bass end, the new rumble series absolutely shits on the comparable ampeg, acoustic and peavey models.

For the first time in my life, I actually find myself taking notes while doing casual research about shit online, such as home improvement projects, potential purchases, finance, etc.
Yes, I appreciate that many people have no problem doing this using other methods, but I have always been too ADD to keep up my momentum with whatever I was researching and also taking notes as I went. As a point of reference, I could never take notes in UG using pen and paper, but did much better with notes using a laptop in LS.
Taking notes on an iPad is the best of both paper and computer worlds. When writing something down, I don't need to worry about organization or completeness of the note at that time since it can be easily edited on the fly. It also doesn't require the commitment of reading close to a computer so I can type notes. For this reason alone, my iPad Pro is 180^180. |

Incredibly expensive, but no one really argues that they are not among the highest quality hand tools available today. Admittedly, Snap-on's tools are so damned expensive, they take a hit on value. Note, my accolades are limited to Snap-on's hand tools. Their electronic products are hit and miss. |
