He got a 1600 and finished third in the class with 8 5s on APs including Calc, Physics and Chemistry. His ECs were not that impressive but he did have a decent research internship summer after junior year and a good rec from that plus great recs otherwise. AND he was a legacy at Princeton and Dartmouth. Ended up at state flagship after getting dinged by all 8 of the top 15 that he applied to (incl. Princeton and Dartmouth). That fucking blew my mind. The SJW admissions officers have gotten completely out of hand, and XO is right that the next game changing issue like immigration will be attacking higher ed for being a cancer on our economy and society.
