No I don’t think so. Women used to approach dating as finding an appropriate partner that was attainable within their social circle. There were always outlier, never settle cat ladies but that was generally due to mental illness.
Now women approach dating as a tool to improve their social media status and impress their internet friends who they never actually see, so the man’s height is epically important to show well on facebooks. Also with apps women believe that they have access to a much larger pool of men. Relatedly, women used to avoid pump and dump situations, but now they are widely accepted as a part of empowerment (this started with SATC).
Women have always had similar goals but social media and the destimgitation of promiscuity has changed things a lot.
